EMX, which stands for Emagine Maximum Experience, is Emagine’s premium large-format auditorium designed to provide an immersive, cinematic experience. EMX Theatres feature a massive, floor-to-ceiling screen that fills your field of vision, paired with 4K laser projection for crystal-clear image quality and vibrant colors. The audio experience is powered by a Dolby Atmos sound system, which uses ceiling-mounted speakers to create three-dimensional, object-based sound that moves around the auditorium. EMX auditoriums also include Emagine’s signature heated, power-reclining leather seats with adjustable headrests and footrests for maximum comfort. EMX is available at select Emagine locations and is ideal for action films, blockbusters, and visually stunning movies that benefit from a larger-than-life presentation.

Super EMX is Emagine’s largest and most advanced premium large-format auditorium, building on EMX, which stands for Emagine Maximum Experience. It offers an even more immersive experience than standard EMX. Super EMX features an even larger floor-to-ceiling screen, 4K laser projection, and a state-of-the-art Dolby Atmos sound system with additional speakers for enhanced audio immersion. The auditorium is designed with stadium seating and Emagine’s heated, power-reclining leather seats, ensuring every guest has an unobstructed view and optimal comfort. Super EMX is currently available at select flagship Emagine locations and is the ultimate way to experience blockbuster films, creating visually spectacular movies. The combination of the massive screen, laser projection, and immersive sound creates a cinematic experience.

Dolby Atmos is an advanced audio technology used in Emagine Theatres to create a three-dimensional, immersive sound experience. Unlike traditional surround sound, which uses channels (left, right, center, surround), Dolby Atmos treats sounds as individual objects that can be precisely placed and moved anywhere in the auditorium, including overhead. This is achieved through ceiling-mounted speakers in addition to wall-mounted speakers, allowing sound to come from above, below, and all around you. For example, in an action movie, you might hear a helicopter flying overhead, rain falling from above, or footsteps moving from one side of the room to the other. Dolby Atmos is featured in Emagine’s EMX and Super EMX auditoriums, as well as in many standard auditoriums across Emagine locations, enhancing the realism and emotional impact of the movie.

Emagine Theatres feature 4K laser projection technology, which delivers superior image quality compared to traditional lamp-based projectors. Laser projection provides brighter, more vibrant colors, deeper blacks, and greater contrast, resulting in a sharper, more lifelike picture. The 4K resolution means the image has four times the detail of standard HD projection, ensuring that even on large screens, the picture remains crisp and clear. Laser projectors also have a longer lifespan and more consistent brightness over time compared to traditional bulbs, ensuring a high-quality viewing experience for every showtime. 4K laser projection is standard in Emagine’s EMX and Super EMX auditoriums and is increasingly available in standard auditoriums across all Emagine locations.
